Readers of my blog know that I have been critical of the ECC facebook page which highlights what the Edgemont Community Council thinks is wrong about the town--not what is right about Edgemont. Over the past few years almost the entire page is devoted to negative comments about me or the town. I don't mind criticism. I do believe that there is more good in Edgemont/Greenburgh than bad. And-- also believe that when people are considering moving into a community they do their due diligence and check out local neighborhood websites. If everything that is perceived to be wrong is highlighted and everything that is done right is ignored, potential residents will have the wrong impression about the community -and will choose to move elsewhere.
I am very pleased that the ECC is planning to launch a new, more upbeat about Edgemont website that will promote Edgemont. The following is what the President of ECC told me about the new site:
"The ECC is about to launch a website that will tell prospective residents just about everything they could want to know. It is written, designed, photographed, and produced by Edgemonters. When we launch, you should take a look and see what a promotional website is supposed to look like."
This is exciting news. It's good for Edgemont...will be good for property values...and will make Edgemont residents happier about their investment. Congratulations to the Board of the Edgemont Community Council for this new initiative.
